White Tower Miniatures - ECW Musketeers
Review taken from 'Casting Around'
In the last issue Rob Hendrie reviewed some painted Robin Hood and Wild West figures from White Tower Miniatures spotted at the December show in London. I noticed that White Tower also sold castings and Matthew Hair provided me with three English Civil War musketeers, two firing and one loading. As Rob noted, these are metal versions of plastic figures produced by Peter Cole of Replicants. The results are solid, clean one-piece castings although the muskets being fired look a bit short for 17th century weapons. I confess, I cannot share Matthew’s view that there are no other good quality ECW musketeers on sale at shows (figures from Maros Models come immediately to mind). But these add further choices to what’s on offer for the ECW or Thirty Years War and that’s a good thing. These first three figures are to test the market so further expansion of the range may depend how much interest they produce.
The ECW castings measure 58mm approx and cost £7.00 each. Customers are advised of postage costs once Matthew receives their order.
